This is not from the Chrome Web Store yet. Our listing is in review. Until it is approved you install it by hand, which takes the six steps below. Your browser may show a note about developer mode extensions each time it starts, and that is normal for anything not installed from the store. When the listing goes live we will say so here, and installing will be one click.

1Download the filePress the button above. You will get a file called agsoundtrax-extension.zip, usually in your Downloads folder.
2Unzip itDouble-click the file. It turns into a folder. Keep that folder somewhere you will not delete it by accident, like your Documents. Chrome reads the extension from this folder every time it starts, so if the folder goes, the extension goes with it.
3Open your extensions pageCopy chrome://extensions into the address bar and press Enter. Typing it will not work, browsers do not autocomplete this one, so paste it.
4Turn on Developer modeThere is a switch in the top right of that page. Turn it on. This is only what lets a browser run an extension that did not come from the store, which is what this one is until our listing is approved.
5Press "Load unpacked" and choose the folderThe button appears in the top left once Developer mode is on. Choose the folder you unzipped in step 2, not the zip file. AGsoundtrax now appears in the list.
6Pin it to your toolbarClick the puzzle-piece icon beside the address bar, find AGsoundtrax, and click the pin next to it. Now it sits in your toolbar where you can reach it.

Then connect it to your account

Click the AGsoundtrax icon in your toolbar and press Sign in. A tab opens on this site, you sign in the way you always do, and you press Approve once. That is it: the extension fills with your catalog, your playlists and your licences.

It never asks for your password and never sees one. Your account hands it a key of its own, and you can take that key back at any time from the connect page. Revoking is immediate.

Questions people ask

Can it see the other sites I visit?No. It runs on one page, the connect page on agsoundtrax.com, and nowhere else. It cannot read the pages you browse.

Will it update itself?Not while it is installed this way. A hand-installed extension stays at the version you downloaded. Once our store listing is approved, installing from there updates itself and you can delete the folder.

Can I buy a licence inside it?No, on purpose. Licensing, downloads and certificates open this website in a tab, where your session and your payment details already live. A toolbar popup is not a checkout.

Do I need an account?Yes, and it is free. Create one here and connect the extension to it afterwards.

How do I remove it?Go back to chrome://extensions and press Remove. To cut it off from your account as well, disconnect it on the connect page.
